Boats

Bryan's boat and Edward's boat on the downwind side of the island, protected from the wind. Sorry for the blur, but the wind is blowing pretty hard and I was holding my phone above my head and could not keep it steady. I can't do this with gloves on and my fingers are starting to get cold. During the process of posting these three pics, the charge my iPhone has so far fallen from 72% to 46%. I still need to call Margie. The generator for this cabin has no fuel and may not for days. So now you know why I will be taking lots of pics with real camera, but few with this phone and will be making few posts. Still, I didn't think I would be able to post any, but with a little bit of suffering I can. #crossisland #boat #inupiatwhaling

Cross Island - can you find the polar bears? I doubt it

Yay! It posted!!! As promised, I now post a pic of Cross Island, looking east from the rooftop of the EMN Cabin. If this also posts, I will try another view or two. There are at least six polar bears in this picture. Go ahead, look for them. Don't feel bad if you can't find them. They are tiny, tiny, dots. #crossisland #polarbears #alaska

Searching for Facebook on Cross Island

If this posts, I am standing atop the roof of the EMN cabin on Cross Island, pointing my phone toward Prudhoe Bay. Leon, Leonard and Bryan managed to connect to Facebook, right here at the door, but it takes a stronger connection to post an Instagram and even stronger to post to my blog. The wind is howling today and the ocean is too rough for boating. Today has been spent readying tow ropes, weapons, the wince, etc. I have photographed it all, of course, but not with this phone. This is only the second iphone photo I have taken since we reached the island. Even if this experiment works and this posts, I am not going to worry too much about iPhone photos and Instagram until we get back to the mainland, who knows when. If it does post. I might shoot a scenic from the roof, just to show the island. There might even be polar bears in the pic, but if so they will be too small for the iPhone to discern.
