I'm still alive - not kicking, though - that would hurt too much - just a bit about my second surgery and the aftermath

So I got a morphine shot, semi-dozed for a couple of hours, then got another morphine shot plus a couple of pills. This really knocked the pain down, brought my comfort level up and allowed me to get some decent rest up to about 7:00 am.
This should not be interpreted as solid sleep - too many interruptions for that, caused mostly by my roommate who snores loudly and makes other noises through the night and speaks in a gravely penetratin voice.
The drugs helped me bear these noises, but not completely.
I was sleeping pretty good about 1:00 when he suddenly started to sing - i think maybe it was a lullaby to himself, but it was no lullaby to me.
I put on my headphones, pulled up an album of Apache songs on my iphone
and drowned him out.
Still, on the whole, it was a pretty decent night, the drugs carried me through and, except for gas and pressure building up in my bowels, my pain level is much reduced.
Instead of a little setback, you could call this a big setback. Doc still says I should be good. For the moment, I am in hell. Talk about your pain! Nurse was able to give me a double dose of morphine just a few minutes ago. I'm hoping it knocks me out for a while. Like, 10 years or so.
