Jobe meets Cowboy Tim; airplane flies over frozen marsh; a train and a cheetah

I took Jobe to Abby's today. He brought his own milk.

Pretty soon, Cowboy Tim came in and joined us. Jobe got all shy. "I bet he'll get over it real quick!" Tim gambled.

Soon, they were playing footsies - sneaker to cowboy boot.

After I brought Jobe back to the house, I took a walk. This airplane flew by overhead.

Regular readers are familiar with the fact that there is dried-out marsh behind our house. When we first lived here, it was a genuine marsh. Mr. Dodd Shay did not live in this neighborhood then, but now he does and he holds title to the marsh. He is very good about letting me and other walkers cross through, but he does not like me to call it a marsh.

"It's a meadow," he insists. It rained a lot down here while I was up north.

Now the marsh is a marsh again, but it is frozen solid so it is easy enough to walk across.

Later, Jobe was playing with train toys. Monica wanted to ride on the train, but she is too big.

Late in the day, Melanie drove out from Anchorage to cook dinner in honor of my having returned home a week ago - fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collards and salad. It was really good.

Afterward, Jobe put a cheetah on display.
