Invitation to like Mormon - Bud Light; Gary wants to be President; a brief flurry of snow on the highway

My lunch date with Lisa turned into a noon breakfast date with her and her boyfriend Bryce. You know how Facebook is always throwing out invitations for you to "Like" this or that? The other night at 8:03 PM, Lisa found a double "Like" invitation on her iPhone that amused her so much she took a screen shot of it.

She has since been showing it to various friends, expecting them to see the humor and to laugh as she did - but they tend not to laugh, not to get it. So she has to explain it to them. Not even Bryce got it.

So, at the brunch table, she pulled out her phone and showed it to me. I looked at it and laughed right away.

"I knew you'd get it, Dad," she said. "I'm glad someone finally laughed and I didn't have to explain it."

On my home, I found myself in the midst of a huge political rally in support of Gary Johnson for President of these United States. So many supporters thronged the highway that traffic slowed down to an average of 72.3 miles per hour. The oratory was so thrilling and inspiring, I considered changing my vote to Gary, but then I said, "Nah...."

As I passed through the Fort Richardson military reservation, I found myself in a brief flurry of snow, about five miles wide. I did not get that parka I went to town to get. I didn't like any of the parkas I looked at. The warmest ones were all down. You would think Alaskan outfitters would know better.

After having had an Iñupiaq made hunting parka all those years, it is pretty hard to be happy with anything I find in a store.

Were all the down parkas "Made in China"? Good luck! Well, Albertson's (Mormon owned super market) does sell beer (outside Utah) so many wouldn't get the joke. :-) They sell Coke, coffee and tea also, too! The almighty dollar!

Thanks for two laughs today, Bill! Hope you are able to obtain another Iñupiaq made hunting parka in your travels. I'm sure you are going to have a difficult time finding anything else that you like!
