Quiet settles in

Once again, this house has fallen silent. For the past four days it was filled with the happy laughter, angry tears, chaotic commotion but always wonderful noise of young grandsons. Now they have all gone home. It was a sad departure for the older boys in particular as they badly wanted to stay at grandma and grandpa's house. I shot a little photo series illustrating this, but given the way too many pictures I posted yesterday I decided to hold off. I will post the departure series later today.

Whenever the boys arrive, Chicago, the calico cat, goes into hiding. She does not like the noise and chaos. She has now reemerged into her blessed quiet. The house is hers once more.

Reading this post and for some strange reason this thought came to me regarding Chicago. Perhaps in a previous life Chicago had been John James Audubon's cat. From what I have read. When Audubon was a youngster he would cut hair off his cat's tail and use it to make his paint brushes.

Nosy question about a previous blog entry. What industry does Lavina work in that has her making last minute trips to McGrath?

Lavina works as a health educator for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. She went to help with a workshop in McGrath. As it turns out it wasn;t really last minute. Margie just forgot and remembered at the last minute and called me up to come in and get her a day ahead of normal schedule, so I thought it was minute.
